A fire alarm control panel (FACP), fire alarm control unit (FACU), or simply fire alarm panel is the controlling component of a fire alarm system. The panel receives information from devices designed to detect and report fires, monitors their operational integrity and provides for automatic control of equipment, and transmission of information necessary to prepare the facility for fire based on a predetermined sequence. The panel may also supply electrical energy to operate any associated initiating device, notification appliance, control, transmitter, or relay. There are four basic types of panels: coded panels, conventional panels, addressable panels, and multiplex systems.
Horn Strobes. ... Intended for full building notification as well as on the property ground, they produce a loud sound to notify occupants to evacuate the buildings; the strobe is intended to notify those that may have a hearing impairment.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Audible devices can be loud and impairing for certain individuals. All property owners and management are required to notify ALL tenants within 48 hours in advance of scheduled testing.
In addition, you will need to notify your central monitoring station and local fire department in regards of the testing (if applicable) on the day of your scheduled inspection. Failure to provide proper account authorization will result in Fire King not performing the testing and service fees will apply.
A fire alarm pull station is an active fire protection device, usually wall-mounted, that, when activated, initiates an alarm on a fire alarm system. In its simplest form, the user activates the alarm by pulling the handle down, which completes a circuit and locks the handle in the activated position, sending an alarm to the fire alarm control panel. After operation, most fire alarm pull stations must be restored to the ready position using a special tool or key in order for the panel to be reset.
Smoke and heat detectors are sensors you will want to add to any system. These devices let a panel know if there is a fire in the building. An activated smoke and heat detector will cause an instant alarm. Your system will take action based on your monitoring plan.
Upon completion of ITM customer will be provided with an Inspection Report which details all of the ITM checks that were performed. This form shall also be digitally filed in Fire King’s data base for future reference.
Once the fire alarm system has passed all required ITM checks Fire King will provide proper certification & documentation for the service.
Please note that Fire King will not provide certification with a 'passing status' if there are deficiencies (failures) found within the system. In an event the system is not in compliance, the customer will be provided an estimate for correction/repair of deficiencies found during the ITM.
NOTE: Re-inspection fees may apply pending the severity of the actions required.
